Send your postcode, roofing issue and urgency. Photos are helpful if you have them.
We identify whether the job sounds urgent and what needs to be checked on site.
Access, roof type, visible defects and the likely cause are considered before pricing.
You receive the proposed scope so you can understand what is being repaired or replaced.
Most roofing enquiries do not begin with a technical diagnosis. They begin with something ordinary: a damp patch after a night of rain, a tile on the driveway, water spilling over a gutter, a draught in the loft or a chimney that suddenly looks a little different after high winds. That is enough information to start with. You do not need to know the name of every roof component before getting in touch.
Cardiff properties vary enormously. Older terraces can have slate coverings, traditional chimney stacks and narrow access. Post-war semis and bungalows often have tiled roofs with different ridge and verge details, while newer extensions may introduce flat-roof junctions that need to be assessed separately from the main roof. The right repair depends on how those parts work together, not simply on the age of the property.
A single leak does not automatically mean you need a new roof. Many problems are localised and can be repaired sensibly once the source has been found. On the other hand, a roof that has widespread deterioration, repeated leaks and several old patches may be reaching the point where replacement offers better value than continuing to deal with one defect at a time. We would rather explain the difference clearly than turn every enquiry into a major job.
Good roofing work also pays attention to the details around the covering. Chimneys, lead flashing, valleys, ridges, verges, gutters and downpipes all affect how water leaves the building. A damp problem can sometimes be caused by one of these areas even when the tiles themselves look fine from the ground.
